An empowering rowing
(and mental skills) coach.
Alex Carter - State Rower, Youth Olympian, Elite Triathlete
I have never met a coach so enthused about increasing female participation in sport and encouraging young women to believe in themselves and their capabilities. She taught me to take on challenges, to challenge my beliefs, the beliefs of others, and through this I learnt positive self-talk – to feel positive about myself, what I could achieve and that I was a capable athlete. Amber helped me learn to be resilient when things didn’t go according to plan, to manage the normal ups and downs of life. To get back up, believe in yourself and try again. This assisted me as an athlete to manage my emotions and anxiety, and refocus my concentration on the where to next.
Making psychological
concepts accessible
Kate Hood - Wellbeing Coordinator
Amber shared her story with palpable authenticity and emotion. The students were able to understand the psychological content because Amber could smoothly link the theories with her own experiences. A truly engaging, warm and friendly presentation that enabled students and staff to understand resilience and adversity. Thank you Amber for so generously sharing your story with us. It is one that all young people would benefit from hearing.
An authentic connection
with young people
Emily Squadroni - Educator
Amber spoke with our children (age 1 to 10) and made a connection with each child at each age range. Everyone could understand exactly what she was talking about - her humble approach and her patience to answer each question was sincere. We are all in awe of her many accomplishments, and grateful for her customized presentation she created just for our children.
